So, the hives in the back apiary are infested…. badly. The good news is that the front apiary is looking strong. I reworked the hives in the back, essentially replacing everything in an attempt to save those two.
Another dead queen in the hive. She never made it out of the cage. It’s a sad day.
I finally got larvae in some queen cells, so I made our first hive split of the year.
I decided to walk back and watch the hives today for activity. We have had some lousy weather lately. so it was nice to see the bees out and about.
